Ocean Under The Moon

We are almost at a full moon on August 30th/31st depending on where you are on the planet. And it turns out that it is a blue super moon! Blue moon is a term used to describe the second full moon in a single calendar month. It is a rare event that only occurs every two to three years, hence the popular phrase "once in a blue moon." This year's blue moon also coincides with a super moon, which is when the moon is at its closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit, appearing larger and brighter than usual.

In many cultures, the full moon holds great significance, symbolizing change, transformation, and new beginnings. The blue moon super moon is considered a powerful time to set intentions, release negative energy, and manifest abundance. It is a time of heightened intuition and awareness. So pay attention to any synchronicities or dreams!

The painting also feels very watery, ocean like. I was listening to the radio as I was painting it, and just as I had the thought that it was beginning to have an ocean feel, Santana came on the radio singing "And it's just like the ocean under the moon, it's the same as the emotion that I get from you..." You'll be singing that for the rest of the day now! But I thought it was a nice little synchronicity.

The ocean represents abundance and the watery aspect of Neptune and our emotions. The feminine energy. I decided to add a blue Koi Carp which it turns out represents the masculine energy, and so it is a lovely balance between the two. The Blue Koi Carp also represents good luck and prosperity. So it is a lovely energy to bring into one's life.

The koi fish has been an important symbol of peace, calm, and tranquility in Japanese and Chinese culture for centuries. Many people choose to have the koi fish tattooed on their body to serve as a reminder of this message to be permanently reminded of the importance of being calm and peaceful.
