Rosy Cross Original Painting
This painting is based on symbolism I received in a dream from a number of years ago. It feels like the right moment to bring it into being. I have very much enjoyed bringing this piece to life!
In the dream there was a chair in the corner in which sat WB Yeats. I was shown an engraved book with an ornate cross in the centre. There were four roses in the quadrants, but they were flickering in and out of view. The energy of the dream was a feeling to make the roses strong again. It feels the right time now to finally do that, paint it and bring the roses into being fully.
Interestingly, Yeats wrote this poem about the rose and the cross, not a poem I was aware of prior to this dream.
“He who measures gain and loss,
When he gave to thee the Rose,
Gave to me alone the Cross
Where the blood-red blossom blows
In a wood of dew and moss,
There thy wandering pathway goes,
Mine where waters brood and toss;
Yet one joy have I hid close,
He who measures gain and loss,
When he gave to thee the Rose,
Gave to me alone the Cross.”
W.B. Yeats
The traditional Rosicrucian cross has the rose placed in the centre. Yeats was a follower of the Golden Dawn movement. The dream seemed to say that the rose needed to come off the cross and become manifest in the four corners. Perhaps a message for the divine feminine to come into full consciousness on earth despite the many attacks on women and womanhood currently underway across the planet. May this painting bring healing and strength.
This painting measures 70cm x 70cm and is available for sale. It costs €1330 and as always I am always open to people paying in instalments if that works best. Email me at [email protected] if you would like to give this painting a forever home.
